At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we evaluate tech items from water resistant speakers to gas leak detectors. To test solar charges, we take them to our standard light room and time how long it takes to completely charge each system. Then, we see for how long it requires to charge numerous devices over 400 hours of battery draining over our newest testing.
